It’s socks over leggings season and I am here for it. How about you? What familiar comforts is October ushering in for you?
It feels like yesterday I was collecting flowers along the river on my sunrise run, and now I’m collecting reflections off the puddles I dodge at a slower pace. I feel like I can exhale a bit after the starting and stopping of September, my breathing shifting like the colour palette on the ivy outside my office window. Even with much to do, as ever, things are drawing inward. The year is beginning to yawn, there’s decay underfoot. This month invites us to land.
What might it mean to land right now, where you are? Welcome yourself home. Hold all the balls you’ve been juggling in stillness for a moment — what’s right at the very center?
For me, this means consolidating my work(s) of the year. My new book(!) goes to press this month and I’m turning my attention to putting it to work in service of your practice — more on this very soon.
