When’s the last time you felt balanced? Or settled, or easeful, or maybe there’s some other word that to you best describes the feeling of being harmonized and well amid the imbalance of daily life?
Balance is no accident, nor is it perfection, a fixed point or end goal, or an ideal to strive for. Balance is an accessible practice for all of us, an ever-evolving adjustment toward our own center. It only asks that we slow down, breathe deeply, and pay attention.
When we use our practices — writing, breathing, yoga, movement — the seemingly elusive notion of balance becomes more readily available, in the moments when we need it most.

and I have been talking about the highly complementary and embodied practices of writing and yoga, and how they can create entry points to our attention and, ultimately, balance. Over a recent post-yoga lunch at Alice’s kitchen table we considered how yoga supports writing and writing supports yoga, and discovered our shared desire to bring our work together in support of your practice and wellbeing. Now, we’re so excited to share that we’ve created a living, breathing experience for you to move and savour at the intersection of yoga and writing. I hope you’ll join us and feel the difference.

Yoga, writing, balance
A meaningful new collaboration from yoga coach and writer Erin Taylor and author Alice Vincent (Why Women Grow). This accessible event is open to those looking to slow down, breathe deeply and pay attention to create space and gain understanding.
The event will consist of two parts: a gentle and inspiring movement class from Erin, followed by a short creative guidance and writing workshop from Alice. This session has been created with the intention of finding balance and creativity ahead of the expanse and energy of summer, to explore how we can use yoga as a creative beginning to our writing, and writing as a means of harnessing our attention.
If the weather is good, we’ll practice outdoors, in either case there will be time to explore the beautiful Chelsea Physic Gardens afterwards.
Please bring your own yoga mat and journal.
Tea and coffee will be provided.
Please note this event will be photographed for use on Alice and Erin’s platforms.
Tickets: a limited number of tickets are free for paying members of our communities — scroll down to book.
