I’m not sure if it’s reaching what feels like the dirtiest part of winter (thanks, February) or the school halfterm break or some other common imbalance I’ve yet to articulate, but it sure feels timely to flex a certain resilience, doesn’t it? The late winter wobble — she’s digging in like the cough that has settled into me and my son’s chests over the last few weeks.

Imbalance beckons resilience, our ability to get up and keep on. When I can’t locate that certain kind of buoyancy, I head to my mat (or stand up and get right into it since it’s not like you even need a mat to practice yoga). I can’t think of a better way to connect to our intrinsic internal support. When we practice yoga we make shapes outside our usual frame of reference. Triangle, downward dog, forward Bend, butterfly…

If you’re not into yoga (or think you’re not into yoga), stay with, knowing that the way we hold ourselves and the physical shapes we make hold power to shift our entire mood, outlook, and energy.
