Hello and Happy New Year!
I hope your first steps into January have been gentle.
Is anyone else feeling equally inspired and overwhelmed by all the timely prompts going around right now?
I’ve been reminding myself that, even with so many questions, it’s okay to pause and linger in this space. Sit with yourself. We don’t need to have all the answers. Keep exhaling — it’s (still) winter. This season of rest spans endings and beginnings — 2024 continues to integrate as 2025 percolates with possibility. Despite all the new year noise, there’s really no fervent rush to proclaim your goals or have your plan totally dialled.
Meaningful direction often emerges more quietly during this time, if we can let go of the need to know and name.
Can you allow yourself a gentler start?
Yes.
How?
Rest.
There’s so much to make and do, as ever. Still, there is a path of less resistance. Rest is the most readily available, underutilized tool available to support yourself. Rest doesn’t require anything formal or fancy. Rest doesn’t ask anything of us other than our attention. Rest is a power stance. Rest is, literally fuel.
I could go on and on, but let’s get to the goods (your practice)…
Use rest to frame your year
Today I’m sharing Daily Anchors with our member community. It’s a gentle guide from my new book Move, Rest, Recover that I created to help you use rest to frame your days and year. The notion of rest guiding your days might seem radical — it is, and it’s not. When you acknowledge and respond to your innate need for rest in meaningful ways I think you’ll find yourself more able to meet and respond your moments as they come.
This beautiful 10-page pdf includes insights, practices, and prompts to support you to move through each day more rested and with more ease. It’s organized into three sections: morning, midday, and eventing, and equips you with context and practical inspiration for how to make rest work for you, for real, even as you get on with all the things that need doing…

These practices have been my go-tos for years, in my own practice and in my work supporting people of all kinds to rest and rise. I’ll be sharing these practices in audio format with our member community later this month, stay tuned!
I hope that you rest and feel the difference in 2025.
