Rolling out my mat and stretching my body open, putting pen to paper and pouring out the contents of my mind — yoga and writing have long been my most reliable practices. I’ve done both for many years and with time I’ve come to understand that it’s less about performing advanced postures or crafting perfect sentences, and more about meeting ourselves where we are. It’s about practice.
Move your hips back and you’ll feel your stance center; move your thoughts onto the page and you’ll feel your mind settle… Regardless of your experience or perceived capacities, yoga and writing are embodied practices that create entry points to your own attention and hold the power to move you into balance, again and again.
’s writing has shown me this on many occasions and inspired me to stretch my own practice, and collaborating with her has reminded me how highly complementary yoga and writing are. We’ve been inspired to create a special off-screen practice experience, and to bring our work and communities together in a living, breathing way.“When you pay attention, life looks a lot different,” Alice said during our first savour sessions x balance practice earlier this summer. And so it does. It also feels a lot different. I hope you’ll join us for the autumn edition, gather your attention, and see what’s there.

Yoga, writing, balance
This accessible event is open to those looking to slow down, breathe deeply and pay attention to create space and gain understanding.
The event will consist of two parts: a gentle and inspiring movement class from Erin, followed by a short creative guidance and writing workshop from Alice. This session has been created with the intention of finding balance and creativity as we move into autumn, to explore how we can use yoga as a creative beginning to our writing, and writing as a means of harnessing our attention.
Tea and coffee will be provided and there will be time to explore the beautiful Chelsea Physic Gardens afterwards.
Please bring your own yoga mat and journal.
Tickets: a limited number of tickets are free for paying members of our communities — scroll down to book.
