Spring is the inhale to winter’s exhale. It’s time to breathe in.

I’ve been starting my days by opening my back door and taking a moment to breathe in the smell of damp, green, and growth. The season has turned — have you noticed your physiology responding? Can you feel your inhales stretching out?

Your breath is your most powerful and accessible tool.

Ever present and available, the quality of your breathing will tell you everything you need to know about your internal state. The simple gesture of attuning to your breath holds the power to calm and center you anytime, anywhere. And while slowing or extending your exhalation has a profound calming effect on your nervous system, lengthening your inhalation brings the possibility of waking and energizing your entire body.
