Every year around this time I look at the trees and think to myself,
Sometimes it’s best to leave some things undone and watch the leaves fall.
I’m clearing up my desk and with it, my mind. Things no longer needed are crinkling and falling away to the steady beat of temperatures dropping. Look to the ember ember rainbow above and below and it’s hard not to feel it. Something is burning away.

We just turned the clocks back here in the UK, and darkness descended shortly after 4:30pm in Scotland where I sit at the time of writing this. I’m watching the autumn tide come in, pulling a thick, slate blanket up over the beach.
