Hi there, I’m dropping in briefly today with a little prompt and reminder for all of us as we move toward Autumn Equinox.
This, my friends, is a moment of balance. The length of day and night match, and light and dark are harmonised, briefly. What does that feel like? Have you noticed? Blink and you might miss it (no pressure, seriously). The sun yawns and surrenders to the moon from this point onward…
Pause today, or tomorrow, or whenever you can — review, give thanks, plan... Sit with yourself in whatever way feels right and remember that even the smallest practices can help us to feel settled amid change. Gestures of care ease transition and align us with balance. What could that look like in the contexts of your life right now?
I shared the below in my monthly feature, A Little, Often, last week and it feels timely to pull it out from behind the paywall — a prayer for your practice in the season ahead.
Welcome to autumn
Welcome to your practice
it all shifts, again
with every day, month, season
Use your practice to catch your breath
catch up with yourself
meet yourself where you are
and reconnect to the steady undercurrent
ever available balance
when we slow down, breathe deeply, pay attention
and respond
More timely notes, prompts, and ideas for your practice heading to you every Sunday this autumn, see you there.
‘Gestures of care ease transition and align us with balance,’ this is so true. This really made me reflect- thank you! Lovely piece,
Sara
