How to Stretch Your Shoulders

A quick sort out

The most common upper body and postural imbalance is caused by… sitting. We sit (let’s be honest) all the time, which shortens and tightens the front body while overstretching and weakening the back body. Have you noticed? Perhaps you’ve felt some tension around your shoulder blades or a lack of space across your chest? Is your torso rounding forward?

Let’s take a few moments to stand up and do something about it — access your full wingspan. 8 minutes to open your chest and shoulders, deepen your breathing, reset your posture, and boost your energy.

We might as well call this practice the shoulder sort out because it’s like medicine for stiff shoulders and an accessible remedy for the body strain that accompanies prolonged sitting. One simple stretch to move your body into balance — you don’t have time not to use this and feel the difference.
