Softening

(free practice) A brief, calming pause

Today, a brief pause for us to calm and center ourselves, right where we are.

In these moments, I invite you to consider how you might soften right now, today/this week/this season. Descending your shoulders, unhinging your jaw, subtracting something from your agenda… What does softening look like in your life at this time? What does it feel like?

Inspired by Lyndsay Kaldor’s recent gathering, The Softening, where I offered the opening meditation for a morning of gentle grounding, tending, and (of course) softening.
